Background information
This program was produced as part of a
Concerted Action entitled "Factors affecting hide
and skin quality: Development of strategies for improving
the raw material of the leather industry." This
Concerted Action has been funded by the European Commission
under the FAIR Programme, but the content of the publications
and materials produced is the sole responsibility of
its publishers and in no way represents the views of
the Commission or its services.
The Concerted Action is co-ordinated by
BLC Leather Technology Centre, and represents a collaboration
between ten partners representing the tanners' associations
or hide improvement societies in nine member states,
all members of COTANCE - the European Tanners Association
- which is the umbrella association for all national
tanners' associations within the European Union and
which is also a partner in the project.
