Control of animal movement is imposed immediately upon suspicion of disease.
It is usual to impose two controlled areas around an infected premises.
This is reinforced upon confirmation of disease.
Routine surveillance of animals in the immediate vicinity of the infected premises for signs of disease.
All movements prohibited from farms at risk.
Movements from farms within the restricted areas can only occur under licence and then only directly to the slaughterhouse.
Not lifted until at least 28 days after completion of slaughter and disinfection on the infected premises.
