Countries (or zones) can be classified as endemic, sporadic or FMD-free.
The OIE maintains a list of countries recognised as FMD-free which is
updated annually. The types of movement allowed depend on the current
FMD status of the country and the status it is seeking to achieve. For
example, vaccinated animals can move freely between countries NOT free
of FMD, but cannot be imported into FMD-free countries.
