Resistance

Flies more rapidly become resistant to an insecticide used continously. Only those flies which have some ability to withstand the chemical are left to produce the next generation. The almost inevitable result is an ever increasing ability to resist the action of the chemical. This resistance will often extend to all chemicals within a certain chemical group.
